Day 9: Chicago

On my way to spend a weekend in Wichita with friends, I flew through the Chicago O'Hare Airport. A magnificent view of downtown Chicago was visible out my window. Pictures taken out of airplane windows are never the greatest, but this one turned out decent enough.

Day 8: Almost Summer

This little sundress was hanging in Aislinn's room today, where she had put it in hopes of dressing Sinead in it. The weather hasn't warmed up quite enough, yet, but she left it there so it would be ready as soon as a warm day arrived.

Day 7: Sleeping Beauty

Sinead is so beautiful (I may be a bit biased) and when she sleeps she looks so very peaceful, that I decided to capture it for my photo today. :)

Day 6: Pretzel Letters

I was demonstrating to the kids today how you can make the entire alphabet out of pretzels. To prove my point, I made each one of their names out of pretzels. Besides being quite full when I was done, (some of the letters take more tries than others >_<) I thought they looked rather cool, so I used them as my photo today. The lighting was hard to get right, since I was trying to get it right in Manual mode, instead of Auto.

Day 5: Lilac Leaves

I had other plans for the photo today, but due to circumstances beyond my control, none of them worked out. I'l still trying to figure out how to get the lighting right in manual mode, and can't seem to get my pictures to look as nice as with auto mode.

Day 4: Trip to Friendlys

I had several plans for yesterdays photo, but none of them worked out. In the evening, I went out to Friendlys with some friends of mine, and we all ordered Kids meals. Chocolate milk came with them, and so I got this picture of my friend, Annie, enjoying hers. It took me awhile to get the shadows right, but after a long day I was too tired to get fancy. :P

Day 3: A Walk in the Woods

It was a bit chilly, today, but clear, so I took a walk in the woods. The sun streaming through the trees and around the lake made for some beautiful pictures, but after taking several, I fell back on the first one I had taken, of this little creek running down the middle of the path. I had fun playing with the ISO and aperture settings to get the lighting just the way I wanted it. :)

Day 2: Too Wet to Play

Sinead loves playing outside, but today, in contrast to the gorgeous weather yesterday, turned out very rainy and foggy. My subject turned out a little fuzzy, because I was having trouble adjusting my focus points. And because it was hard to get her to hold still for long enough to get a good shot. :P

Day 1: Down at the Lake

I decided to start my photo blog with a photo shoot down at the lake. I got lots of pictures, but this candid shot of Donovan stood out to me. He and 'my' other two kids will almost definitely feature prominently into my blog in the future.
